Pet Sitter Job Details

 

Oh, Fur Pet's Sake seeks an extraordinarily reliable and highly detail-oriented individual to join our team. Our ideal candidate is comfortable interacting with pets and clients daily in the pet's home, has previous experience with dogs, cats, and various other animals, knows pet first aid and CPR, and has excellent communication skills.

 

Oh, Fur Pet Sake Pet Sitter Core Responsibilities:

  • Take care of pets and their needs

  • Understand pet behavior

  • Communicate and compassionately interact with pet parents

  • Maintain a clean environment for the pet(s), including cleaning all messes and leaving homes cleaner than you found them.

 

Pet sitting is a demanding, challenging role.

  • Employment with Oh, Fur Pet's Sake is a serious commitment, not a side hustle.

  • This is NOT a temporary or seasonal position. We are only seeking candidates who are available year-round and interested in a long-term growth opportunity.

 

Oh, Fur Pet Sake Pet Sitters MUST:

  • Have a very flexible schedule with limited reoccurring commitments, as pet care visits vary continuously

  • Be dedicated to completing every pet care visit with precision

  • Be someone who consistently arrives 10 minutes early

  • Be dependable no matter what hurdles appear. Unplanned absences or last-minute changes in schedules will not be tolerated. The pets in your care depend on you.

  • Be at least 21, with individuals over 35 encouraged to apply. 

  • Live in or within a 5-mile radius of Big Lake, Elk River, and Zimmerman, or in Otsego/Albertville.

  • Be able to work and commute in all types of weather. This active job requires energy reserves on windy, rainy, snowy, subzero, and hot days.

  • Have access to a reliable vehicle not shared with anyone and hold a valid driver's license.

  • Own a smartphone running the latest operating system.

  • Be able to walk dogs of all sizes in all types of weather.

  • Love people and animals because this is as much a customer service as a pet care position.

  • Must communicate effectively by promptly returning emails, phone calls, and text messages

  • Have basic grammar, writing, and photo skills to complete visit reports.

  • Be highly organized and extremely detailed oriented.

  • Pass a detailed background check.

 

This is a staff position. Pay is $15-$20 per hour.
